Clinical Staff/Ambulatory Pharmacist

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Specialty: Pharmacy

Position Summary

  • Provide comprehensive patient care through inpatient pharmacy functions such as order entry/verification, medication checking/dispensing.
  • May rotate into ambulatory roles including anticoagulation clinic services, oncology, or others as assigned.
  • Support a variety of patient populations, from geriatrics to pediatrics.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.

Experience

  • Recent hospital experience preferred.
  • For ambulatory rotations: pharmacy residency experience and advanced practice certifications preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of current state and federal pharmacy laws.
  • Ability to interact positively with pharmacy staff, healthcare providers, nurses, and other health system employees.

License/Certification

  • Current license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or eligibility for reciprocation within 90 days of hire.
  • For anticoagulation clinic rotation: Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification meeting American Heart Association standards, with renewal every two years.

Supervision

  • Receives minimal supervision from Pharmacy Manager and Supervisors.
  • No supervisory responsibilities indicated.
