Job Description

• Position involves floating as a Flex RN between various medical and surgical units.
• Units include:

  • Medical Unit (77 beds)
  • Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute, 18 beds)
  • Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds, floated to on rare occasions)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • Medical Unit: 1:6 (days and evenings), 1:8 (nights)
  • Laulima Unit: 1:6
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
  • Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15)
• Scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation
• No guaranteed hours

Requirements

• Must have an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of the assignment.
• Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity documentation will not be accepted.
• Experience: 2-10 years preferred.
• Certifications:

  • Required: BLS, ACLS
  • Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC

Equipment and Systems

• Meditech EMR
• Pyxis medication system
• Wound vac
• Chest tubes

Orientation and Training

• Orientation provided for each unit floated to.
• Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment on Friday.
• Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs).

• Flexibility to float between units as needed.
• Must be punctual for start date and orientation requirements.
