Job Description

This entry-level position works under immediate to general supervision of a mentor/preceptor to develop competencies in delivering specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and pediatric patients. The role supports medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and monitoring of a range of conditions from simple to complex.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care in various settings including acute inpatient, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and remote clinics.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
  • Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
  • Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures within scope of practice.
  • Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation and technical quality meet department protocols and accreditation standards.
  • Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical data/findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform operator-level quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfecting of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research to maintain competencies and improve care.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and skill in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and reliably report to work as scheduled.
  • Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
  • Accuracy in maintaining records and handling names, numbers, and codes.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
  • Understanding of operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Professional, polite, courteous, compassionate, and cooperative communication with staff, patients, and families.
  • High initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and attention to detail.
  • Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies, and related terminology.
  • Ability to apply core-level specialty theory, practices, and techniques.
