Job Summary

Provide advanced ECG monitoring by assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation. Responsibilities include identifying and responding to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiating codes, recording rhythms during codes, performing continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, troubleshooting monitoring problems, and responding appropriately to all monitor alarms.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings, including proper electrode placement.
• Communicate clearly and appropriately with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians.
• Enter and verify orders in the computer system.
• Retrieve laboratory results and notify the charge nurse as needed.
• Ensure documentation meets current standards and organizational policies.
• Manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and correctly.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (issued within the last year) by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross.
  • Dysrhythmia Course.
• Skills: Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
