Job Opportunity: Speech Therapist II

Location

• Newport Beach, California
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Patient visits conducted in-home
• Equipment provided (to be picked up from facility)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Hours

• 8 hours per day
• 40 hours per week

Job Description

• Assess patients for speech therapy needs and establish treatment goals
• Develop and implement appropriate speech pathology treatment programs
• Review medical history and apply screening tests to determine clinical needs, impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities
• Collaborate with patients and families to establish plans of care including therapy intensity, duration, and discharge recommendations
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy activities, equipment use, home exercises, and safety
• Perform regular re-examinations and gather feedback from patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Manage multiple patients simultaneously while ensuring timely and accurate documentation in compliance with professional and regulatory standards
• Participate in continuing education and incorporate new knowledge into practice
• Assist with orienting new staff and act as a clinical instructor for interns
• Conduct literature reviews and provide staff consultations as needed
• Attend clinical education courses meeting California Board of Physical Therapy guidelines and provide in-services to staff

Required Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with geriatric patients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
