Registered Nurse (MS) - Travel Assignment

Location: Moreno Valley, California
Contract Length: 20 weeks

Job Summary

• Assess patients on admission and reassess regularly, considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Establish and update individualized plans of care based on comprehensive data and reassessments.
• Administer oral, topical, and parenteral medications following the "7 rights" of medication administration.
• Monitor and document effectiveness and adverse effects of medications and treatments.
• Perform treatments and procedures adhering to nursing best practices, hospital policies, sterile technique, standard precautions, and patient privacy.
• Document patient care, pain management, discharge planning, education, and progress clearly and accurately.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs using approved educational materials.
• Interpret diagnostic data and promptly communicate clinical changes to physicians and healthcare team members using SBAR communication.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and follow National Patient Safety Goals.
• Manage patients in restraints according to policy and apply appropriate criteria.
• Follow hospital policies on patient identification, infection control, blood transfusion, and Core Measures.
• Understand and participate in emergency procedures including Rapid Response Team activation and Life Safety Standards (Code Blue, Code Pink, Code Red, Haz Mat, Oxygen shutoff).
• Maintain hand hygiene before and after patient contact.
• Understand and appropriately use the Chain of Command.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum of one year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
