CT Tech Position - Colorado, Lafayette

Job Summary

The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role requires independent judgment and initiative to produce high-quality scans.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
• Verify patient identity and orders; prepare patients for exams.
• Perform exams according to department protocols.
• Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring all necessary anatomy is captured.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
• Complete studies within department time expectations without compromising care or quality.
• Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address patient/family concerns.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate relevant information to other providers.
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures, and any adverse events.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, quality control, and report equipment issues.
• Administer contrast media under physician supervision and educate patients on safety.
• Stay current with CT technology and protocols through continuing education.
• Assist and instruct students and other technologists in protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.

Required Qualifications

• ARRT (CT) certification.
• BLS (AHA) certification.
• Radiation badge (provided by supplier preferred).
• 1-2 years of CT experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of acute care or healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Proficient in sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning.
• Skilled in CT imaging techniques, protocols, and contrast administration.
• Ability to operate electronic imaging systems for viewing, transferring, and manipulating images.
• Ability to recognize and respond to emergent patient situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Shift and Contract Details

• Shift: 12-hour day shifts.
• Contract length: Approximately 13 weeks (90 days).
