Occupational Therapist

Location

  • Detroit, Michigan

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Two shift options (each 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts):
    • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday
    • Sunday through Wednesday

Job Summary

  • Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits.
  • Assess patients' ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
  • Design, implement, and modify treatment plans using appropriate modalities.
  • Document patient progress and seek consultation as needed.
  • Educate patients and family/caregivers about deficits and therapy.
  • Plan and assist with patient discharge, including adaptive equipment selection and support program recommendations.
  • Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to regulations and standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Michigan.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in inpatient and rehabilitation settings.
  • Proficient in the use of treatment modalities.

Additional Information

  • Acute care experience preferred but new graduates willing to train.
  • Occupational Therapy services become billable after 48 hours worked per week.
