Registered Nurse — Intermediate Care

• Wausau, Wisconsin

Assignment Details

• Travel assignment
• 13 weeks
• Start ASAP
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 12-hour variable shifts: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM or 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Float to inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU
• Every other weekend and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Intermediate Care (3 years of experience)
• Intermediate Care experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS
• ACLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS

Unit Overview

• 8-bed intermediate care / observation unit
• Typical patient ratio: 1:4
• Common patient types include anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre-/post-op urology and GI
• May manage cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, insulin, and heparin
• Average stay up to 48 hours
• High volume of admissions and discharges

Scheduling / Work Conditions

• May be low censused in 4-hour increments
• Not considered on-call
• Set hours are not guaranteed during orientation week
• During flu season, declining flu and COVID vaccination requires masking at all times per policy
