Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel RN position in Duluth, Minnesota
• 13-week assignment
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM

Schedule

• May be low censused and placed on call
• Call back minimum is 2 hours
• Two weekends per month and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota
• Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Management of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) including NSTEMI/STEMI
• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization patients
• Care of patients with heart failure (chronic and acute)
• Knowledge of cardiac pharmacology (antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, vasoactive medications)
• Ability to recognize and respond to cardiac deterioration and rapid changes
• Oncology experience
• Neurology experience
• Orthopedics experience
• Med Surg experience
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience

Preferred Experience

• Previous travel experience is preferred
• Experience managing cardiac patients
• Strong telemetry interpretation
• Experience with acute coronary syndrome, including NSTEMI/STEMI
• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization patients
• Experience caring for patients with heart failure
• Knowledge of cardiac pharmacology
• Ability to recognize and respond to cardiac deterioration and rapid changes

Unit Details

• 30-bed cardiac care unit
• Typical patient ratio is 1:4
• Float to inpatient oncology, neurology, orthopedics, med/surg, and IMCU

Additional Notes

• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Royal blue scrubs required
