Job Summary

As a CT Technologist, you will perform computerized tomography scans under the supervision of certified radiologists. Responsibilities include producing diagnostic images, assisting radiologists during procedures, and supervising student Radiologic Technologists. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and maintaining excellent patient care and communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CT imaging procedures following established protocols and physician orders.
• Ensure patient safety and provide age-appropriate care during imaging.
• Prepare and instruct patients on procedures, assist with informed consent, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Supervise and assist student technologists in clinical education.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure correct orders and clinical history are entered, and communicate with radiologists.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principles) and comply with hospital and regulatory policies (OSHA, DHEC, FDA, TJC).
• Assist other imaging team members and support departmental operations.
• Work may involve frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), exposure to blood/body fluids, radiation, and occasional toxic chemicals. May require working under stressful conditions, irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated ability to perform and teach CT exams to produce satisfactory diagnostic images for interpretation
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform and teach CT exams to produce diagnostic-quality images.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations.
• Competence in operating CT and post-processing equipment as well as standard office equipment.
