Job Opportunity: Angio/Interventionalist
Location: Billings, Montana
Employment Type: Clinical Non-Nursing (Peak)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform angiography procedures including scrubbing, setting techniques, and imaging.
- Provide procedural assistance as circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech per lab policies.
- Operate interventional radiology (IR) equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
- Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation.
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment.
- Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies and their proper use.
- Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, quality control, and equipment reporting.
- Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address patient/family concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of patient info, procedures, and any incidents.
- Coordinate patient care and communicate with other providers post-procedure.
- Manage sheath placement or removal and hemostasis at procedure end.
- Maintain work area and stock supplies.
- Transport patients as needed.
- Assist with specialized procedures including SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, neph tube placements, biliary tube placements, CT-guided procedures (drains, biopsies, ablations), and neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2 years of vascular or interventional experience (higher value between 1-2 years specified).
- Ability to recognize and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication with caregivers and patients.
- Understanding of anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning.
- Knowledge and adherence to infection control and sterile techniques.
- Competency in patient education, patient care, and patient identification protocols.
- Experience in radiography and operating imaging equipment.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Experience in vascular procedures and angiography.
- Ability to provide life support in emergencies.
- Proper use of body mechanics during procedures.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 1 to 2 years of Angio/Interventional experience.
Additional Requirements
- Personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) required to track radiation exposure.
- Use of existing badge from previous assignment encouraged if available.
