Supports surgical case setup, sterile field maintenance, instrument handling, patient positioning, draping, and post-case cleanup
May assist with suturing, clamping, cauterizing, ligating, and hemostatic agent application
Includes cardiovascular operating room first assist responsibilities

Valid First Assist Technician license in Kentucky
First Assist Technician (1 year of experience)
First Assist Technician experience within the last year
BLS
NBSTSA Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA)
Graduation from a Surgical Technologist program or comparable military training, and completion of a Surgical First Assistant Program
