Job Summary

• Assist healthcare team during intra-operative period.
• Prepare and handle surgical instrumentation and equipment.
• Assist surgeon during surgical procedures.
• Provide care based on patient age and needs (neonate through geriatric).
• Prioritize and problem-solve in dynamic surgical environments.
• Recognize and respond immediately to urgent or emergency situations.
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, metric system, and aseptic technique in patient and family interactions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain aseptic technique during surgical duties to ensure positive patient outcomes.
• Care for, prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instruments.
• Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy.
• Adhere to professional standards of practice.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of secondary education, evidenced by a High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficient knowledge and application of surgical technology and aseptic technique.

Shift and Schedule

• Day shift: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• 12-hour shifts.
• 36 hours per week.
• No weekends.
• Call up to 40 hours on a 6-week schedule.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
