Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Contract)
Location: New York, NY

Job Summary
As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, you will provide safe, competent, and quality nursing care to patients and their families. Your role involves assessment, critical thinking, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, patient education, and prioritization of care. You will also participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold patient safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs, applying critical thinking in care management.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and evaluate care plans.
- Educate patients and caregivers on care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Manage assignments and resources effectively within the care delivery model.
- Role model relationship-centered care practices including admission welcome, bedside shift report, purposeful rounding, medication review, and discharge planning.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families, respecting cultural diversity and individual preferences.
- Participate in quality and safety initiatives, process improvements, and nursing research.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, including coordination of supplies and staffing resources.
- Document nursing care accurately and thoroughly in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Facilitate patient throughput during shifts.
- Support professional development and lifelong learning within the nursing team.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience working with adult or pediatric patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Preferred Experience
- Trauma experience is a plus.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records highly preferred.
