Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care to residents to promote comfort and improve their quality of life. This role includes clinical leadership responsibilities over Resident Assistants and requires collaboration within an interdisciplinary care team.

Essential Functions

• Provide leadership, coaching, training, and education to subordinate nursing staff including Resident Assistants.
• Deliver safe, professional nursing care following facility policies, professional standards, and state/federal regulations.
• Follow individual resident care plans to enhance quality of life.
• Prevent and reduce negative outcomes through strong assessment skills and accurate, timely administration of prescribed orders and medications.
• Practice the “Choices Philosophy of Care,” promoting dignity and respect for all residents.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety policies, universal precautions, infection control, and bloodborne pathogen standards.
• Identify and report safety concerns and unsafe equipment; participate in safety education.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Alaska
• Minimum 1 year of LPN / LVN nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate's degree
• Experience in Long Term Care

Additional Information

• Up to 24 hours call-off allowed during the 13-week assignment without penalty
• Overtime paid after 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week
• Local placements accepted with no adjustment to pay or overtime rates
