Contract Length

18 weeks

Schedule

12-hour day shifts
Every other weekend
Self-scheduling is used for core staff; travelers are added in
Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Required Qualifications

Active RN license
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Driver’s license required at submittal

Experience / Skills

ICU experience
Ability to titrate drips
Ability to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips
Ability to float to PCU and occasionally MedSurg
Ability to care for adult patients with ratios of 1:2–3 in ICU and 1:4–5 when floated

Unit Details

33-bed ICU
Average daily census of 16
Common patient types include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance use, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress

Additional Notes

Weekend call-back requires arrival within 30 minutes
Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
Orientation includes one unit-specific shift and a pass/fail open-book exam during orientation
Minimum of 2 holidays are required during the contract
Requested time off must be submitted upfront; additional time off will not be approved
