Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (3 years of experience)
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
BLS
PALS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Average census: 2
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
EMR: Cerner
Tele: Spacelab tele monitors; nurses must read their own strips
Vents: Yes
Peds Hospitalist Intensivist in house 24/7
RT 24/7
Pharmacy 24/7

Schedule and Work Expectations

Every other weekend
2 of 3 holidays
May be asked to be on standby if census is low and the nurse is scheduled
Travelers are first to float

Clinical Notes

Common drips include insulin, sedative agents, heparin, and occasionally vasopressin, norepinephrine, epinephrine, and electrolyte replacements
Uses medfusion pumps
