Location

Contract Length

13 weeks

Shift

Nights, 12-hour shifts
Shift times: 6:30 PM–6:30 AM
Weekend requirement: every other weekend

Unit Overview

Adult PCU unit
55 beds
Patient population includes adults; pediatrics are rare and limited to ages 15 and older
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 on days and nights
May float to medical-surgical areas based on highest need

Required Qualifications

ACLS
BLS
Driver’s license required at submittal
Telemetry competency

Additional Hiring Notes

Pass/fail exam during orientation; a score of 90% is required to pass
Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity
Must live outside a 50-mile radius, verified using the driver’s license at submittal

Unit Environment

Nursing assistant support available
Charge nurse present
Additional support includes educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT
Common diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness
Common therapies/medications include PCA pumps, Cardizem, and insulin
Mechanical lifts are available in every other room
