Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVOR

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience

Required Certifications and Licenses

Active California RN license
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Job Description

Must scrub in CVOR cases
8-hour shifts with call if cases run long
Schedule posted for two pay periods; weekend coverage required for approximately 3 shifts per month
One weekend call per month
Overnight call once a week
Rotate holidays with core staff
Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips (Telemetry)
Ventilator experience preferred but not required
Work in a fast-paced, busy OR environment with 4 suites
Typical surgeries include CABG, valve surgeries, and other heart surgeries (no thoracic)
Surgeon available 24/7 during regular hours; on call overnight and weekends
Support staff includes CSTs (nurse aides), RT available 24/7, and pharmacy 24/7
No IV team support
Floor-specific orientation: 1-2 days in OR with preceptor

Additional Requirements

Two supervisory references required at time of submittal (one within 12 months, one within 3 years)
First-time travelers are acceptable

Work Environment

Cerner EMR system
Scrub color provided
Charge nurse oversees overall OR
Must be confident and experienced in CVOR skills

Weekend and Call Requirements

Cover approximately 3 weekend shifts per month (1.5 weekends)
One weekend call per month
Overnight call once a week

Note: Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
