Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Location: Winona, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of RT experience for night shift
• Minimum 1 year of RT experience for day shift
• ABG blood draw experience required
• Experience assisting with newborns in OB setting required

Patient Population & Work Areas

• Patients: Infants, Pediatrics, Adults
• Areas Covered: Inpatient, Outpatient, Emergency Room (ER)

Job Duties

• Manage all respiratory equipment
• Perform percussion therapy (training provided)
• Conduct 12 Lead EKGs for inpatient and clinic settings (not ER)
• Perform ABG blood draws
• Assist with intubation (not independently)
• Travelers are not required to perform Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) or oversee them

Scheduling & Shifts

• Shifts: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Schedule made 4 weeks in advance by manager
• Flexibility required to fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or every 3rd weekend
• Holiday requirement: May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• No call required; standby call possible but no response time specified

Additional Information

• Floating: May be asked to oversee the entire hospital including clinic when necessary
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs
• Equipment Used: Hamilton C3 ventilators, Respiroics V60s for BiPAP, Fisher-Paykel Airvo
• Hospitalists available 24/7
• Orientation: 1 day general orientation, 1 day with a preceptor
• Radius Rule: 100 miles
