Surgical Tech - Arizona

Location

City: Prescott

Contract Length

13 weeks

Work Schedule

Shift: Evenings (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM)
Hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
Call required

Unit and Work Environment

Unit: Surgery Tech (Main/West Campus)
Operating Rooms: 6 suites plus 1 hybrid room
Case Volume: 20-30 cases per day
High volume of Orthopedic, Vascular, and General Surgery cases
Common Procedures: Total joints, general surgery, spine, urology
Scrubbing required (RNs do not scrub)

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a Surgical Tech
Experience with Orthopedic, Vascular, and General Surgery cases
BLS Certification required
ACLS required for RNs; Surgical Techs require BLS only

Additional Information

Charge nurse and specialty leads available as resources
House supervisor present from 6 PM to 7 AM
EMR system: Cerner

Traveler friendly, good ratios, great scheduling, decent providers, Uses tiger text to communicate with most doctors. Plenty of hiking activities. Close to Sedona, Flagstaff and Phoenix. 5:1 Med/tele and 3:1 PCU.

Cons

Cost of living is High, roughly $2000-2500 for your own private space. Float between East and West Campus, 25 minutes apart, west will likely be where you spend 75% of your shifts so pick your housing accordingly.
