Overview

• Contract role in Clarkston, Washington
• 13-week contract
• Day shift, 36 hours per week
• 25-bed CAH
• Role is for MSU/PCU and requires flexibility to work in departments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (3 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Med Surg experience

Responsibilities

• Provide patient education using appropriate education modalities
• Support patient safety through preventative measures, including side rails, restraints, and safe use of equipment
• Follow restraint policy correctly and document appropriately
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation of equipment in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas
• Use troubleshooting techniques and follow procedures for repair of essential equipment, including accessing equipment manuals as needed
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures using proper procedures and documentation
• Use standard precautions at all times
• Maintain complete, accurate, concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during the shift
• Document charges accurately
• Complete physicians orders in a timely manner and perform 24-hour order checks when within shift duties
• Give complete and accurate change-of-shift reports
• Communicate with other departments completely and accurately
• Report critical lab values to the physician in a timely manner according to policy
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, room supplies, and general supplies
