Unit Overview

Emergency department with 16 beds and 8 hall chairs
Low-acuity patient mix, including ESI 4 and 5; may take ESI 6
Typical staffing per shift: 6–7 staff
Transitioning from a Level IV to a Level II trauma hospital

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
1 year of ED - Emergency Department experience
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
ACLS
BLS
PALS

Preferred Qualifications

CEN or TCRN
More than 2 years of emergency department experience

Documentation
Medication administration
Wound care
Splinting
IVs
Urine collection
Lab draws
Care for ESI 5 through 1

Schedule / Unit Expectations

Shift huddles at 7am and 7pm are mandatory unless providing critical care at the time
EMTALA training is mandatory

Additional Details

Royal blue scrubs preferred
Team jersey may be worn on Sundays for seasonal team spirit
