Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12-hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period
Call Requirements: None scheduled; may flex shifts to on-call up to twice during contract


Unit & Patient Population

  • Unit Type: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
  • Number of Beds: 40
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
  • Typical Patients: Total joint replacements, surgical patients, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Recent acute care experience
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Job Expectations

  • Floating to other units such as Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED) is expected
  • Must be able to work without a block schedule; 48-hour shifts may be considered but are not guaranteed
  • Compassionate, positive, and can-do attitude preferred
  • Preceptor and charge nurse experience is a plus

Dress Code

  • Scrubs: Black top and bottom
  • Unacceptable Attire: Open shoes
