Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 4x10-hour shifts (scheduled between 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
Weekend Hours: As required by facility
Call Requirements: Approximately 5 or fewer calls per 8 weeks
Job Description
- Provide direct patient care across all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Utilize the nursing process to coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize comfort and outcomes.
- Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality.
- Perform duties consistent with nursing practice guidelines, Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and facility standards.
- Work primarily in a clean, air-conditioned environment; physical demands include standing, walking, lifting/pushing patients (up to 50 lbs), and occasional kneeling or crouching.

- Department: Main Operating Room
- Number of Beds: 22 (Main), 8 (Ambulatory Surgery Center), 10 (Orthopedics)
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Equipment: Includes DaVinci robotic surgical system
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
- Patient Types: Outpatient to critical care inpatient
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Orientation & Additional Requirements
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full availability for the entire week
- Facility requires flu vaccination or approved exemption from November 1 through April 1 (no declinations accepted)
- Dress code includes provided scrubs; unprofessional attire such as jeans is not allowed
