Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Main OR position requiring 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience, with night shift scheduling and scrub/circulator experience.
Details
- Located in the Main OR of a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center hospital
- OR suite includes 22 main rooms, 8 ASC rooms, and 10 orthopedic rooms
- Patient population ranges from outpatient to critical care inpatient
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Equipment includes various surgical instruments and the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System
- EMR: Epic
- Night shift, 4x10 schedule (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- 13-week assignment
- Weekend hours required as needed by the facility
- On-call required on any scheduled day, averaging approximately 5 or fewer calls per 8 weeks
- Floating required as needed by the facility
Requirements
- Active RN license — must hold a Missouri license or be eligible for MO licensure (Compact license accepted if eligible)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience required; teaching hospital experience may be considered
- Both scrub and OR circulator experience required
- Minimum 1 year of recent OR specialty experience required
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
- No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Performs direct patient care activities including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups
- Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes
- Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; candidate must be available the entire orientation week
- Scrubs are provided by the facility; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
- Flu vaccination (or Mercy-approved exemption) is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be billed at a reduced rate
- Candidates residing within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or transfer outside the 50-mile radius is required
- Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs, and pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs
