Echo Tech Travel Position - San Jose, California

Job Summary

Seeking a certified Echo Tech with experience performing transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms in a hospital setting.

Location

City: San Jose, California
Facility: Hospital with 404 beds, equipped with new GE echo machines
EMR System: Meditech

Employment Type

Travel contract
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications

Echo Tech Certification:
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI), or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Key Responsibilities

Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), including bubble studies
Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
Assist with echo-guided pericardiocentesis (preferred)
Assist with pre-ablation TEE and post-TAVR TTE procedures
Transport and operate echo machines across multiple hospital areas/rooms

Work Environment

Unit: EKG / Echo Tech
Shift: Mid shift (1 PM - 9:30 PM)
Call: Minimal call, only if needed
Dress Code: Scrubs (color/attire not specified)

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must have ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS certification
Ability to perform both TTE and TEE procedures
Comfortable moving equipment throughout the hospital
Experience with echo-guided procedures is a plus

Additional Notes

No floating to other units required
Unit policies and guidelines available upon request
