Unit Information

• Unit: 4 Front Medical Trauma Unit
• Location: CJW Chippenham Medical Center, 4th Floor
• Level of Care: Medical Surgical
• Number of Beds: 36 (32 private rooms, 2 semi-private rooms)
• Number of Staff: 60
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs & LPNs, 3 Patient Care Techs, 1 Department Assistant
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs & LPNs, 3 Patient Care Techs
• Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
• Equipment Used: Remote telemetry, vein finder, bladder scanner, EKG machine, Doppler, Hoyer lift, glucometer, pulse oximeter, scales, wound vac
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Skills & Certifications

• Must Have: Valid RN or LPN license
• Preferred Experience: Trauma and telemetry experience
• Specialized Care:

  • Complex wound management
  • Administration of blood products
  • Pain management
  • Management of tubes and drains (NG, PEG, feeding tubes, surgical drains)
  • Chest tube care
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
