Physical Therapist (PT) Travel Position

Location: Spruce Pine, North Carolina

Unit Information

• 60-bed acute care unit and 2 outpatient clinics
• Staff: 19 total (Day shift: 3 PTs, 3 PTAs, 2 OTs, 1 COTA, 1 SLP)
• Patient load: 9-11 patients per day per FTE
• Equipment: PT modalities, pool, cardiovascular equipment, Biodex balance, fitness center
• EMR systems: Cerner (acute care), Nethealth Xfits (outpatient)

Schedule & Work Environment

• Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Weekend rotation every 5th weekend; limited Saturday hours (2-3 hrs), no Sunday visits
• Dress code:

  • Acute care: Purple (eggplant) scrubs
  • Outpatient: Business attire or polo with khakis

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist
• Must have experience in both outpatient and acute care settings
• Preferred skills: Orthopedic/Sports Medicine, Spine/manual therapy, Vestibular/vertigo/stroke rehab
• Typical procedures: Therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, vestibular rehab, balance training, gait training
• Personality fit: Team-oriented, outgoing

Certifications & Licenses

• Licensed Physical Therapist in North Carolina
• BLS certification

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

• Floating areas may be assigned
• Priority patients seen on Saturdays during weekend rotation
