Position Details

- Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week block
- Floating: Will float over core staff
Unit Environment & Equipment
- Staffing: Secretary every day, PRN techs available
- Equipment:
- PD Cyclers
- Welch Allyn VS Carts
- Hoyer Lift
- Broda Chairs
- Alaris IV Pumps
- Documentation System: Meditech
Patient Care & Procedures
- Patient Population:
- Requires care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, strokes, seizures
- Some patients may require dialysis or PCA pumps
- Only Heparin drips used
- Post-Op Procedures on Unit:
- Amputations
- Ostomy care
- Drains and chest tubes
- Oral surgeries
- Wound vacs
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Unit Policies & Guidelines
- HAI prevention including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
- Fall prevention protocols
- 100% medication scanning, including controlled substances
- Attendance per policy
- Bedside shift report and safety checks every 1-2 hours
- Emphasis on communication and responsiveness
Dress Code
- Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue
Team Culture

- Experienced charge nurses and leadership for smooth onboarding
