Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Salem, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: 6 West
• Floor: Med-surg/Oncology
• Number of Beds: 33
• Number of Staff: 27 members
• Day Shift: 5 RNs, 1 clinical coordinator/charge (no patient group), 2-3 techs, 1 unit secretary
• Night Shift: 5 RNs (including charge nurse with patient group), 2-3 techs
• Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
• Equipment: Baxter IV pumps
• EMR System: Meditech (EBCD version)

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in medical-surgical nursing
• Required Certifications: BLS
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Preferred Skills

• Medical surgical experience
• Acute care setting experience
• Oncology experience (preferred)
• Chemotherapy experience (preferred)

Work Environment & Culture

• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (white also acceptable)
