Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky

Unit Information

• Unit Name: Ortho and Med Surg
• Number of Beds: Ortho (30 beds), Med Surg (37 beds)
• Patient Ratios: Usually 6:1
• Staffing: Utilizes Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Skilled Nursing Assistants (SNEs), and Unit Secretary (US) during day shifts
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: Monthly increments (4 weeks); full-time requires working 4 weekend shifts per month (e.g., 3 Saturdays and 1 Sunday)
• Floating Policy: Float to inpatient units, including Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Emergency Department (ED) for patient care and tasks
• Procedures: Some bedside procedures performed by MDs, less common than in CCU/ED

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse License (RN)
  • BLS Certification (required)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg specialty
• Skills:

  • Positive attitude
  • Willingness to work hard
  • Ability to manage patient load
  • Teamwork and patient-centered care approach

Dress Code

• Scrub top and bottoms required
• No fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, sweaters
• Long sleeve shirt under scrub top or scrub jacket permitted
• No shoes with holes
• No denim or camouflage clothing
