Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Perform mammography procedures according to protocols and physician orders.
• Safely operate mammography equipment and ensure radiation safety.
• Consistently observe patients before, during, and after procedures; use appropriate immobilization devices.
• Verify accuracy of data entered from physician orders and computer systems prior to procedures.
• Assist radiologists with special procedures such as needle localizations and biopsies.
• Perform quality control (QC) on stereo units and maintain MQSA quality standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service as needed.
• Collaborate with staff and physicians to ensure optimal patient care and smooth department operations.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and maintain documentation.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff and support staff educational needs.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms, clean equipment and patient areas between patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients, including obtaining relevant history and pregnancy/nursing status.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency in producing diagnostic images and recognizing abnormalities.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed; willingness to work in different areas if required.

Summary

This travel Mammography Tech position in Ada, OK requires at least 1 year of mammography experience and ARRT(R)(M) licensure. The role involves day shifts with no weekends or call, working with outpatient populations using GE equipment and EPIC EMR. The candidate must be proficient in mammography procedures, quality control, patient safety, and collaboration with healthcare teams. BLS certification is required. Prior travel experience is not required.
