Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Job Description

• Work primarily on a Trauma Surgical Unit caring for acute care trauma and surgical patients.
• Patient ratio is approximately 1:6.
• Care includes trauma, orthopedic, and urology patients.
• Collaborate with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and various surgical specialists.
• Provide individualized attention to patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, or observation.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Work schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as required.
• Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in nursing.
• Licensure: Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted).
• Certifications: AHA BLS or Red Cross certification.
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience preferred; will consider 18 months under highest professional license.
  • Must have at least 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg Telemetry specialty.
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified as required.

• This is a patient-facing clinical position.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week.
