Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and providing patient care in the operating room. As part of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other personnel to deliver care according to the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN standards, physician orders, and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure availability of supplies and timeliness of surgical cases
• Communicate with patient families
• Update physician preference cards
• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical procedures
• Supervise personnel delivering patient care

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the Operating Room specialty
• Prior travel experience required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification

Work Schedule

• 8-hour day shifts
• Call required
