Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Newnan, Georgia
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Unit Details

• Patient Diagnoses: General medical surgical & Peritoneal dialysis
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
• First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Work Requirements

• Holidays: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it. If 2 holidays, work both. If 3 holidays, work 2 of them.
• Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
• Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Locals accepted at same rate

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for many specialties including ER, PACU, Critical Care, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, Labor & Delivery, etc.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RN’s in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if specialty indicates
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification required)
• State License: Must be licensed in Georgia
• NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by Aya)
• Color Blind Testing Online (required for all candidates)
• Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU)

Health and Background Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test
• TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
• Immunizations:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters may pend past start if not eligible yet
  • Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters may pend past start if not eligible yet
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
• Flu Vaccination or Declination: Required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31); vaccination strongly encouraged

Background and Documentation

• Background Check: Required within 30 days of start, including criminal and education verification
• Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
• References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
• Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process

Additional Notes

• Manager review of candidate profile occurs within 48 hours after confirmation
• Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
• Candidate must review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start

This position is suitable for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of experience in medical-surgical or dialysis settings, including first-time travel nurses.
