Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Description
- Must have 2 years of experience in a pediatric hospital setting.
- Some Level III or IV NICU experience is required.
- Floating between CORE team (home base) and PICU unit is required.
Required Qualifications
- Ohio State license required for Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT).
- 2 professional references required at time of submission; at least one must be from a manager or supervisor.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
Certifications & Competencies
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA only).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA only).
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (AHA only).
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required for NICU experience (AHA/AAP only).
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification as applicable.
- NBRC certification required for RRTs.
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) as applicable.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required with passing score.
- Competency Exam required with passing score.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including 7-year county search and education verification.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start; must be updated for each new contract.
- Education verification required, including highest degree verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
- Sex offender search, Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Ohio Inmate Registry, Ohio Medicaid Exemption, and Ohio State Abuse Registry checks required within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start.
- Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Affiliating Health Record must be completed and verified.
- Infection Control Policy review and signature required prior to start.
- Fit Mask (N95) testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start (agency standard).
- TB testing options include 2 PPDs or IGRA within 12 months; additional requirements for positive results.
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start.
- Immunizations required or proof of immunity for: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.

- Floating between units is a job requirement.
- Must have at least 2 years pediatric hospital experience with NICU exposure.
- License location on RRT license must match photo ID location or proof of residency is required.
- References must be professional; peer references are not accepted.

- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
This position is ideal for experienced pediatric respiratory therapists with NICU experience who are comfortable floating between critical care units and meet Ohio licensure and certification requirements.
