Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and General OR. This is a travel/contract position requiring prior experience in CVOR and General OR settings.

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including CVOR experience within the last year
Operating Room (OR) experience
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
CPI certification (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
Drug screening within 30 days of start date
Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 3 months)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination (required Oct 1 – Mar 31; exemptions accepted)
Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days

Competency Exams

Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (updated annually)
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (updated annually)

Notes

CPI certification may be completed onsite for candidates not already certified (cost approx. $50)
Candidates must have prior travel experience; first-time travelers will not be considered

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs with prior travel assignments looking for a 13-week contract in Louisiana.
