Job Opportunity: Surgical Services - Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Position for a Certified Sterile Processing Technician
• Certification required: HSPA or CBSPD
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in sterile processing
• Must be available to work one weekend per month
• 40 hours per week

Certifications & Competencies

• Sterile Processing Technician certification (HSPA or CBSPD) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required and collected by agency (not client)

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID required
• Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release required and updated annually
• 7-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • 7-year County search
  • National Criminal search
  • Exclusions and sanctions checks (NSOR, OIG, SAM)
• Education Verification of highest completed education required
• Sex Offender Search (for subcontractors if applicable)
• Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search required for all candidates in MA (not subcontractors)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray documentation required
• Immunizations or declinations required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination (or declination during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination (most recent) or declination
• Drug Testing within 30 days of start, covering multiple substances

Additional Requirements

• Must provide 2 professional references within 3 years of start date
• Employment application covering 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually as applicable

Work Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• One weekend per month required
