Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Odessa, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse
Experience Required: 3 years (2-3 years strongly preferred, defaulting to higher)
Work Setting: Main Operating Room
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, with on-call 1 weekday and 1 weekend per month
Orientation: 3-4 days

Required Certifications

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - as applicable
ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - as applicable
NIH Stroke Certification - as applicable
Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for RNs
Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam

Required Skills & Experience

Experience with robotic XI system
Orthopedic, spine/neuro, general surgery, gynecology
Some ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular
Trauma Level 2 experience

Background & Compliance Requirements

7-year background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
State license verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
Drug testing (negative 10-panel screen within 30 days of start)
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (N-95 or equivalent required)
Immunizations and titers:
- TDAP within 10 years
- Negative TB or chest X-ray (within 1 year, chest X-ray for positive responders)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella - positive titer or vaccination required
- Hepatitis B - positive titer, series, or declination
- Varicella - positive titer or vaccination
Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct-April)
COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required

Facility-Specific Requirements

Completion of facility-specific documents including:
- Notice of Employment
- Standards of Conduct and Behavior
- Dress Code Policy Acknowledgement
- Agency Checklist
- COVID Declination (if applicable)
- HIPAA and Fair Warning Quiz Modules (within 72 hours of signing)
- Orientation and Safety Training Modules (within 72 hours of signing)
- Annual TB Questionnaire
Completion of health record and compliance forms prior to start
