Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse

- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period (schedule determined by unit needs)
- On-call: Not required
- Float Requirement: Yes, traveler will have a home base but may float to other units or locations within the system
- Block Scheduling: Cannot be guaranteed
Experience Requirements
- Years of Specialty Experience Required: 1 year
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Licensure & Certifications
- License: Florida State or compact license required at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
- BLS (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
- NIH Stroke Certification (must be renewed annually)
- Additional Certifications to Check (may be required depending on unit):
- PALS
- NRP
- TNCC
- EFM (required for Labor and Delivery candidates)
- IV Certification (for LPN Home Care)
- Miscellaneous: HIV, Med Errors, Alzheimer’s (for Home Care)
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- Float: Traveler may float to other units or locations within the system
- Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours guaranteed
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at the same rate as travelers
Special Requirements
- Two professional references from authority figures (Managers, Supervisors, Charge Nurses, or Directors) within the last 12 months must be included with submission
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31 - 3/31); medical or religious exemptions accepted with strict documentation requirements
Compliance & Background Checks
- Background checks required within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
- Social Security Trace
- Counties, States, Nationwide checks
- Sex Offender Registry
- Education Verification (international searches required)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check required within 90 days of start
- HHS/OIG check run monthly
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Education verification required; certain institutions are not accepted
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (required by Florida law for all patient-facing candidates)
- Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (strict mask types and shaving policy)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (QGold or 2 negative PPDs accepted; Tspot not accepted)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Titers required within 5 years for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
Documentation & Other Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo with white background for badge
- Auto insurance required for Home Health roles
- Radiation badge monitoring form required for Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, OR, and Pain Clinic units
- Facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgement, confidentiality agreement, iCARE values, and badge form must be completed
- Attestation letter completed by recruiter and uploaded for compliance
This position requires a minimum of 1 year of RN experience, current Florida licensure, specific certifications, and compliance with detailed health and background screening protocols. Prior travel experience is not required, but first-time travelers are not accepted. The role includes floating responsibilities and weekend shifts, with guaranteed contracted hours.
