Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (L&D) - Travel/Contract
Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, Every Other Weekend (EOW)

- Prior Travel Experience: Recent travel experience required
Key Responsibilities & Skills
- Ability to scrub, circulate, and recover in surgical settings
- Experience with high-risk deliveries and antepartum care
- Triage and isolation precautions/PPE compliance
- Maintenance of central lines (CVC, PICC)
- Management of insulin and heparin drips
- Administration of magnesium sulfate and anti-hypertensives
- Performing sterile vaginal exams (SVE) and intrauterine pressure catheter monitoring
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Florida or Compact nursing license
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) via AHA
- BLS (Basic Life Support) via AHA
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required except for L&D (PALS not required for L&D at this facility)
- AWHONN certification required
- NIH Stroke Certification required
Education & Experience Requirements
- Degree from an accredited school or approved by Florida Board of Nursing
- At least 2 years recent acute care experience (consecutive within past 24 months in a US hospital)
- Must have Epic electronic health record experience
Additional Requirements
- Must comply with facility-specific background checks, including aliases, SSN trace, nationwide and county checks
- Fingerprinting (Florida AHCA Level II) required prior to start, with clearance on file
- Physical exam within 6 months of start, updated annually
- Annual fit testing for approved masks (3M 1860 Regular or Small) required
- Negative TB test (QuantiFERON only) or chest X-ray if prior positive
- Required immunizations/vaccinations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination (during flu season), COVID vaccination preferred
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Must complete required online orientation modules and facility-specific training prior to start
- Professional references: 2 required from within the last 2 years
Required Online Modules & Training
- Clinical and general orientation modules
- Annual risk management and compliance training
- Recognizing impairment in the workplace
- Handling hazardous drugs
- Stroke and stroke core measures review
- Nurses' guide to safely administering IV medication
- Caring for patients with obstetrical emergencies
- Required request law: organ donation
- HIPAA privacy training
- PPE donning and doffing for COVID-19
- Additional nursing-specific modules as applicable (e.g., ICU medical, procedural sedation, laser safety for OR nurses)
Notes
- Locals within a 60-mile radius are considered
- Badge photo required (passport-style, white background)
- Must maintain all certifications with at least 30 days validity beyond start date
- Education from fraudulent nursing schools (Project Nightingale) is not accepted
