Job Summary: Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements & Responsibilities

• Work at assigned location for the full contract term
• Work substantial time of assigned shifts
• Take one night weekday call and weekend call every 4 weeks
• Work assigned weekends
• Work at least 50% of holidays during the contract

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC Provider card required for all RNs
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in critical care areas (Cath Lab, CCU, CVICU, Endo/GI, ER, GI Lab, ICU, Interventional Radiology, L&D, MICU, Neuro ICU, PACU, SICU, Tele)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for ER, Pediatrics, PICU RNs
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, NICU, Postpartum, Nursery RNs
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for all pre-start ER RNs as of 11/5/2024
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required for L&D RNs, must be updated every 2 years
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy Certification): Required for Oncology (new requirement as of 3/28/2025)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Required for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs (Blue Card)
• State RN License: Missouri RN license with primary source verification within 60 days of start
• NURSYS Verification: Required within 60 days of start

Background & Screening Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusion checks required within 60 days
• International background check if candidate traveled outside the USA in last 7 years
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Missouri Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days before starting (one or the other, not both pending)
• Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test within 60 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, or 9205)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
• Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year, updated annually
• Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required
• Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required (no declinations accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023)
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31)

Documentation & Other Requirements

• Photo for badge (new candidates only)
• Employment application/resume with minimum 7 years employment history, no gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references within last 2 years
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Various competency exams as applicable (medication test, core competencies, conscious sedation for GI Lab RNs)
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and confidentiality agreement within 60 days of start
