Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

Location: Mooresville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Mammography Tech)
• Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year (outpatient experience required)
• First-Timer Travel OK: Yes

• Flu Vaccine: Required, no exemptions or declinations accepted

Required Certifications

• ARRT Mammography (M)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• Mammography CEUs:

  • 40 hours training in Mammography
  • 25 supervised mammograms
  • 8 CEUs of initial training in 2D and 3D Mammography
  • 15 CEUs in the last 2 years (all Mammography)
  • Documentation of 200 mammograms in the last 12 months (broken down by month)

Required Skills and Experience

• Outpatient mammography experience required
• Must meet all Mammography training and CEU requirements
• Prior travel experience is not required

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
• Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccination or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
• Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer (boosters required if low/equivocal)
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
• Seasonal flu vaccination documentation for 2025-26 flu season (required for new candidates starting Oct-Mar)
• Polio vaccine or signed attestation

Background and Documentation Requirements

• I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (if used for I9)
• E-Verify or attestation
• Background check within 90 days including:

  • SSN trace, counties lived/worked/schooled in last 7 years
  • Alias searches, nationwide, sex offender, international (if applicable)
  • Education verification (must have graduated from accredited Radiologic Sciences program with AAS or above)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days
• Transcript/Diploma (high school or college diploma required for CT Tech)
• OFAC sanctions list search within 30 days
• Facility-specific competency exams and online modules completed prior to orientation
• 2 professional references from employment within last 12 months (at least 1 supervisor)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history

Orientation and Onboarding

• Orientation offered bi-weekly
• Competency checklist (CBO) must be completed within 3 weeks after start date
• Online modules must be completed prior to orientation
• Duke Guest Account setup required prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems

Additional Notes

• Candidates must comply with all Duke Health policies and procedures
• No exemptions or declinations accepted for required vaccinations
• Pass/fail testing on basic tech knowledge during orientation (passing grade 80%)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training provided during orientation (valid for 2 years)
