Job Description

• Work in the Emergency Room (ER) setting.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4.
• On-call required as needed.
• Float requirement: May be required to float to multiple locations within the system.
• Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule cycle.
• Holiday and hurricane on-call requirements.
• Documentation system used: EPIC.

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience as a Registered Nurse.
• First-time travelers not accepted (prior travel experience required).

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA Instructor or Provider only; RQI accepted.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Instructor or Provider only; RQI accepted.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA Instructor or Provider only; RQI accepted.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) preferred but not required.

License Requirements

• Florida State RN license or compact license required at time of submission.
• Pending licenses are not accepted.

Special Requirements

• 2 professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) within the last 12 months.
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 31 - March 31); medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
• Scrubs: Any solid color; bring your own or wear provided scrubs.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• Monthly HHS/OIG checks.
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting).
• Education verification required; certain institutions are not accepted.
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start.
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (strict shaving policy; no PAPR allowed).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start.
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start.
• Immunization titers required within 5 years for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption documentation required during flu season.

Additional Notes

• Contracted hours are guaranteed.
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers.
• Finalized Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included with submission; no changes accepted after offer.
• Candidates must complete facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, iCARE values, and badge form.

This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses with prior travel contract experience who meet Florida licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable with on-call, floating, and weekend shift demands.
