Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Join a high-volume cardiac surgery program performing approximately 400 heart surgeries annually, including advanced aortic arch repair and grafting (types A and B).
- ECMO and independent ECMO cannulation experience are mandatory.
- Cell saver experience is a hard stop requirement.
- Must have experience in CVOR, General OR, and Trauma Level 1 settings.
- Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics.
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 5x8 hours, 7:15 AM to 5:30 PM (first case starts at 7:15 AM unless urgent/emergent).
- On-call required with a response time within 15 minutes; call schedule alternates with the chief perfusionist.
- Weekend call every other weekend and overnight call rotates weekly.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of perfusionist experience preferred; candidates with 5-10 years may be considered.
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers will be considered if they meet unit criteria.
Certifications Required
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
Additional Requirements
- Must meet all unit-specific criteria as outlined in the job description.
- Background checks, drug screening, and health documentation (including TB testing, physical exam, immunizations, and flu vaccination or declination) are required prior to start.
- Respirator clearance and fit testing will be conducted onsite if needed.
- Professional references and photo for badge required.
- Compliance with facility-specific policies including harassment prevention training and safety manual acknowledgements.
