Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Travel/Contract

Job Details

• Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
• Call required
• Must have strong experience in:

  • Trauma

  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Vascular
  • Thoracic
• Required Neurosurgery experience (hard stop):

  • ALIF
  • Anterior Cervical Fusion
  • Cervical Fusions
  • Craniotomy
  • Insertion of VP Shunt
  • Kyphoplasty
  • Laminectomy/Discectomy
  • Lumbar Fusion
  • XLIF
• Must have experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System (hard stop)
• Minimum 3 years prior OR RN experience (hard stop)
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required (hard stop)
• First-time travelers accepted if all other requirements are met
• Locals NOT accepted (must live 75+ miles from facility)
• Scrubs provided

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse license (State License verification required within 30 days of start)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, certificates of completion NOT accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (required for certain units)
• Other certifications may be required depending on assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC)
• NURSYS Verification required within 30 days of start
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required within 30 days of start

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, or PA
• Quantitative fit mask test with 3M mask within 90 days prior to start (annual renewal required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray, renewed annually
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred)
• Negative drug screen within 30 days of start, renewed annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31) or approved exemption
• COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Requirements

• 2 references required, including a direct supervisor reference within the last year
• Employment application covering 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Employment verification preferred for last 5 years
• Must not have worked at this facility previously (disclosure required)

Summary

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in the Operating Room requiring a minimum of 3 years OR RN experience, including Level 1 Trauma Center experience and specific neurosurgical and Da Vinci Xi Surgical System expertise. The contract is approximately 13 weeks with a 4x10 hour shift schedule and call responsibilities. First-time travelers are welcome if all requirements are met. Comprehensive certifications, health screenings, and background checks are mandatory. Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible.
