Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Greenwich, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts with rotating weekends

  • May accommodate 2 8-hour and 2 12-hour shifts if preferred
• Facility: 186-bed Magnet and teaching hospital
• Charting System: Epic

Experience & Licensure Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT (Respiratory Therapist)
• Must hold current BLS and RRT certifications
• Must have a valid Connecticut state license
• Epic experience required

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC)
• Must pass required competency exams such as Medication/Pharmacology and Color Blind Testing
• Fit Mask test required within 12 months of start and must be updated annually

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months prior to start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification including transcript/diploma and foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
• Work history verification required for the last 7 years
• Attestation of prior radiation exposure required if applicable to certain tech roles

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required
• Tdap vaccination highly preferred for certain specialties (not required)
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella
• 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID vaccination series preferred

  • Preventing Pressure Injury
  • Language Services

  • Patient Transportation with Oxygen

  • Pyxis ES MedStation
  • Baxter Pump Interoperability
  • Patient Bedside Rounding (except certain units)
  • Ventricular Assist Device Awareness (not required at this location)
  • AME Blood Administration (not required at this location)
  • New Employee Orientation
  • 21st Century Cures Act (not required at this location)
  • Chaperone Policy Training
  • eCart Training (not required for some specialties)
