Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Chambersburg, Pennsylvania

Job Description

• Seeking MS/Tele RNs for weekend day shifts (Saturdays and Sundays).
• Candidates should be available and able to commit to 4 shifts per month.
• Candidates must prioritize completing compliance items timely; no start date delays will be honored.
• Shifts: 12 hours (1845-0715), at least 1 weekend shift every 6 weeks.
• Patient ratio: 1:6 (max 1:7).
• Age group: Adults and Geriatrics.
• Charting system: EPIC (experience required).
• Medication system: Pyxis.
• Candidates should be open to floating to Rehab unit as needed.

Experience & Requirements

• Preferred: 2 years MS/Tele experience; open to 1 year with strong MS/Tele background.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Epic experience required.
• 1st time travelers accepted.
• 2 clinical references required, including at least 1 leadership reference from assignments within the last year.
• Separation period: 6 months since last assignment.
• Preferred experience: Previous Charge Nurse.
• Preferred skills: Peritoneal Dialysis.

Orientation

• 1 day of orientation (12 hours), scheduled based on availability.
• Candidates must complete orientation and compliance before shift access is granted.

Certifications & Competencies Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (pass/fail required for all RNs except OR and Home Health)
• Other certifications as applicable (PALS, NRP, TNCC) depending on unit requirements.

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidates may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) required within 5 years; candidates may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH Search required within 1 year; must be finalized prior to start.
• Education verification of highest degree required.
• Employment application and recent resume required.
• 2 professional references within 3 years required.
• Skills checklist required annually.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted.
• Vaccinations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series plus declination if applicable)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years.
• Flu vaccine required during flu season; medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation.
• COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination.
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only).
• Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year, renewed annually.

• Candidates must have an agency badge and provide a professional passport-style photo for badge issuance.
• Candidates must review and sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit, and others.
• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.

Summary

This is a per diem MS/Tele RN position requiring weekend day shifts with a 13-week contract length. The role demands strong MS/Tele experience (preferably 2 years), EPIC proficiency, and current BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications. Candidates must meet comprehensive background, health, and compliance requirements and be willing to float to Rehab as needed. Prior travel experience is not mandatory.
